Testing out posterous and comparing it to tumblr
I've been thinking about using posterous.com for some time now, but it wasn't until I saw some recent activity that I thought I would check it out again. I was trying to think why I might choose it over or instead of Tumblr. I like Tumblr alot, but I haven't been using it that much. I thought, why get posterous, if it too is just going to sit around and go nowhere.
I think the answer might be in the distribution feature that posterous provides. By posting once, to posterous, you can send out your information to alot of other sites as well. I think that's a great feature, and it might get me to use it more than some others.Follow-up: I have been using posterous for some time and really like it. However, I think I will continue to use tumblr and posterous. Why? I love that distribution aspect of posterous. I can write once, post to many other places, like twitter and facebook and... etc. But with tumblr, I can get aggregation. I can have my tweets and my delicious bookmarks and any other number of sources all go into one tumble log. I like that too.
So, both great systems, but for different reasons.
