Death leaves a gift (#dream)

Death, who had stolen much from me, surprised me one night by waking me and
handed me a small present. As i was still and comatose from fear, Death pulled out a key, inserted it
in my chest, and pulled back a door, behind which were many gauges. The
ones labelled Happiness, Love, and Present were pointing to Empty, while
others labelled Fearful, Regret, Bored and Fretful pointed to Full. Death opened the gift. It was a bottle of pills, and he handed me one of
them. I am no thief, said Death. I always leave these behind whenever i come to
collect. Most never see such a gift, and those that do hurl them away and
curse my name. Here, take one. It was bitter, of course, and hard to swallow. Take one or more a day as
necessary, said the label, until your gauges read more favourably. -----------------
