On the post post modern buildings at Bayview and Sheppard

On visiting the Bayview and sheppard area of Toronto today, I was taken by how much development of high rises that have occurred in that area since the subway line opened. (Evidence of the effect of subways and zoning on development.) What struck me was how stylish, for better or worse, the building are. I was trying to categorize them. I'd thought that they were beyond post modern with their inclusion of classical elements into
modernist designs. These building were take-offs of architecture of the early 20th century with art deco elements. What I can't decide is whether
or not they were more or less a new form of pomo (post pomo?) Or a form of kitsch modern (ki-mo? :)) it would be easy to dismiss it as kitsch. Perhaps it's a new Baroque! Whatever it is, it is interesting and worth consideration.
