The world moves too fast

The world moves too fast. You might not feel that way, for if you wait in a
traffic jam, or a dentist's office, or a boring meeting, the world moves
terribly slow. But that is the problem with us: we perceive speed poorly.
The world turns a 1000 miles an hour, and it move around the sun even
faster, while the sun tears around the galaxy faster still. We are moving
tremendously fast, as is everything in our life.

You may sit there quietly reading this while your heart pushes blood
quickly through your veins, and your brain sends quick signals to your
body, and your lungs circulate air in and out. Even your cells are rapidly
dying and being born. Your body flickers in so many ways as it races
through space.

And to all this I might say, bah! Who cares! But I looked at my son tonight
at the end of the path. And he looked at me, and he looked so old already,
though I can remember carrying the infant him down the sam path as if were
but months ago. I can remember just yesterday it was summer, and now the
path was flecked with autumn leaves. I become bogged down with the
everyday, as if time is frozen and I am still a young man, but I have no
doubt he looks at me and see an old man, shaky and at time uncertain,
however dear to him.

Things move fast, though we are still on a quiet night and time seems
frozen, permanent. Do not hesitate for you have less time than you think.
